I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the School of Computing and Information at the University of Pittsburgh. I work towards building human-level artificial intelligent entities that can work with humans on a broad range of problems using a wide variety of methods, knowledge, and learning techniques.
My primary research interests are in the fields of Natural Language Processing and Cognitive Science with broader interests in Computational Social Sciences. My recent work has focused on understanding the structure of multimodal communication when language is combined with spatial representations, such as gestures and pointing in face-to-face conversations and illustrations in written communication.
I completed my Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science and earned a graduate certificate in Cognitive Science at Rutgers University under the supervision of Prof. Matthew Stone.
